Why is Quanta so much cheaper than other time trackers?

Most time trackers charge per user because they can, not because they need to. A time tracker logs hours against projects — it doesn't require expensive per-user infrastructure. With more competition and web apps being cheaper than ever to build, SaaS pricing should be going down. We think it's time it did.

What does "up to 100 users" mean?

Accepted Answer

The 100-user limit on the Team plan exists to prevent abuse — not to upsell you. Whether your team has 2 people or 100, you pay the same flat price. If you need more than 100 users, just contact us and we'll work out an arrangement.

Question 3

Can I export my time entries?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Quanta is designed to fit into your existing workflow. Track time here, then export your entries into whatever invoicing or accounting software you already use.

Can I import from Harvest?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Export all time from Harvest as one CSV and upload it. Quanta creates your clients, projects, tasks, team and full history from the rows, shows you a review step before anything is written, and can deactivate finished projects in one go. If a run lands wrong, undo takes the whole thing back out. There's a step-by-step guide, and the same import works for Toggl, Clockify and any tracker that exports a CSV.

Do you sync with Xero or QuickBooks?

Yes, both. Connect your Xero organisation or QuickBooks Online company and invoices you send are pushed across with payments following. Xero can receive them as drafts for approval there. It is one way, from Quanta into your books.

Is there a free trial?

Yes — sign up and start tracking time immediately. No credit card required.

What happens if I cancel my subscription?

Accepted Answer

We retain your data and your account switches to read-only mode — you can still view everything but can't create or edit entries until you resubscribe. You can also export all your data as CSV at any time, even while in read-only mode.

Can prices go up?

Pricing may evolve for new subscribers as Quanta grows, but whatever price you sign up at is the price you keep. Existing subscribers are grandfathered, always. If a change ever affects you, we'll give you advance notice and a chance to cancel before it takes effect — never a silent increase. If you're considering Quanta, earlier is better.

Do you limit API usage?

We apply reasonable rate limits to prevent abuse and keep the service fast for everyone. Normal usage is never affected.

Who's behind Quanta?

Quanta is built and maintained by StackFee Technologies, a software agency based in Montreal, Canada, running since 2019. Our day-to-day business is developing custom applications for other companies — software we've maintained for clients for years. That's the experience behind Quanta: we know what it takes to build, secure, and keep software running over the long term, and we treat your data with the same care we give our agency clients. We also use Quanta ourselves to track our own client work, so we depend on it being reliable just as much as you do.

How do I know you won't shut Quanta down?

Honestly, you don't — but here's why we think it's a safe bet. Quanta is run as a deliberately small, lean operation: no investors to answer to, no team to fund, no growth targets to chase. The creator runs Stackfee.com and has used Quanta for years, alongside other freelancers and agencies. We're not trying to build an everything-app or get acquired — we just need a few thousand subscribers to be comfortably profitable, and at that point Quanta simply keeps running. Modest goals and low costs are exactly what make it sustainable. It's a passion project first, built to solve a problem we have ourselves — so we'd keep it running regardless.

Will there be new features?

There's no defined roadmap — we're happy with the feature set and believe it covers what most agencies and freelancers actually need. The goal isn't to become an everything app. Use Quanta for time tracking and your preferred tools for the rest. We'll always fix bugs, and if you have a feature request, we're open to suggestions — it just needs to be useful for the majority of our users. Occasionally we'll experiment with optional extras, like our AI features, but those are always opt-in and never required to get full value from Quanta.
