Invoicing

Invoicing

From tracked time to a paid invoice, plus expenses, retainers and the settings behind them.

Applies to:
Admins

Invoicing pulls uninvoiced billable time, approved expenses and project fees onto an invoice, sends it as a PDF, records what comes back, and chases what does not. It needs the Invoices permission (Admins have it) and the workspace's invoicing switch to be on (Workspace Settings → General → Features).

The Invoices page

Business & Projects → Invoices shows two totals, Outstanding and Total Invoiced, then every invoice with its number, client, dates, total, balance and status. Filter by status (All Statuses and each status), search by number or client, and use the buttons at the top: Create Invoice, Receive Payment (one payment across several invoices) and Manage Item Types.

The Invoices page: Outstanding and Total Invoiced at the top, then the list with a status badge on every row.

Pushing invoices and payments to QuickBooks Online or Xero is covered under Integrations.
